Severe weather and flooding occurred from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred on 4th March, 2025.

According to Steedman, cyclone Alfred downgraded at 12AM. BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) warned that south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales would still be at risk.

Over 200,000 residents in south-east Queensland didn’t have power at 2AM because of the gale force winds. Consequently, flooding alerts were issued with residents advised to prepare for evacuation. By 5AM, BOM reported that the system was slowing down and losing momentum. This caused additional concerns because of the risk of flooding due to rainfall.
