At noon on January 20, 2025 the 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump was sworn into office. Since then, Trump has signed over 20 executive orders and actions, he has also revoked 78 executive orders formally approved by Joe Biden. To begin the morning of his inauguration, Donald Trump arrived at St. John’s Church in Washington, D.C., accompanying him was Melania Trump. Some other attendees included Baron Trump, Trump’s youngest son, Jared Kusgner, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Tiffany Trump, Michael Boulos, JD Vance, and Usha Vance.
Following the church service, the Trumps were greeted at the White House by the Bidens for tea. Biden made sure to welcome the Trumps ecstatically, “Welcome home!” he said to Donald and Melania Trump. At the White House the upcoming first lady, Melania Trump and Donald J. Trump joined Joe Biden and Jill Biden for tea.
Next riding in the same vehicle as Joe and Jill Biden, Donald and Melania Trump made their way to the swearing-in ceremony. First JD Vance was sworn in by Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Second, Trump was sworn in just after twelve p.m. by Chief Justice John Roberts accompanied by his family. Trump’s inauguration was held indoors at the United States Capitol.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Trump bids farewell to Biden, Jill, Kamala, and Doug and heads over to the president’s signing room ceremony. This is where members of Congress watch Trump sign executive orders, nominations, and memorandums.(left) Next the president and vice president attend an inaugural lunch which usually features a three course meal.(right)
Following this they headed to the presidential parade which was moved to Washington’s capital one arena. Lastly the presidential family finishes the day with an array of balls, including the commander in chief inaugural ball, the liberty inaugural ball, and the starlight ball.
